We are Long-Term Partner Equity (LTPE)
Sydney Lehman and Diana Ding met at Stanford's Graduate School of Business. Diana began her career in Private Equity, where she invested in multi-billion dollar businesses. After several years, however, she grew disenchanted with the PE investment model, and resolved to invest in a new way that would treat founders and employees as equals. Prior to attending Stanford, Sydney led Strategy and Operations for a public solar company, then went on to manage and grow two private medical practices -- the U.S. Center for Sports Medicine, and the Aesthetic Surgery Institute -- where she became an expert at professionalizing and scaling businesses.
Pooling their expertise and experience, Sydney and Diana invented a new asset class: Long-Term Partner Equity (LTPE). Unlike private equity investing, LTPE treats small business owners as investors and equals, giving them access to ownership at the parent company level. Instead of flipping businesses quickly, LTPE holds investments for much longer -- from 10 to 15 years -- allowing small business owners to become true partners, and to retain autonomy in running their businesses. By leveraging LTPE, Sydney and Diana are able to avoid cost-cutting measures, and instead invest in human capital for long-term growth.
Sydney and Diana's most recent venture, Lineage, is a holding company bringing together the most powerful, high-potential medical and aesthetic cosmetic practices across the United States. Their use of LTPE separates them from traditional investors, and allows them to deploy capital with mindfulness and empathy, such that everyone involved wins.
